Our interest in discovering our family history and understanding the Yagan world has led us to contacts with various archives containing material on the Yámana-Yagan culture.
A highly important source for us has been the archives with materials of the ethnologist Martin Gusinde in the Anthropos Institut, where we have found material to complete information on genealogy, toponymy, spiritual and cultural life, etc. We have also found photographs of our relatives with their original names in the Yagan language.
We have acquired a wonderful relationship with the director of the Anthropos Institut, Father Joachim Piepke, who has extended a cordial welcome to us and has granted us access to these materials.
We have also compiled audio recordings in Yagan, as well written material about the language, grammar and vocabulary. All this material serves as a contribution for further publications and activities in the future.
